The PPA401S Module
The dimmer module in the attic is a Vealite RF Wireless 0-10V Dimming Module (PPA401S) — a standard OEM lighting control module, not Solatube-specific. It can be replaced without touching the fan wiring beyond unplugging/rewiring this module.

Caveats
- Compatibility: If buying just the module, verify you’re getting the same PPA401S revision. The one in your attic is V1.4 (06-20).
- Wiring: The module is wired into line-voltage (120-277V). Replacement involves disconnecting the black/white/red power wires + grey/purple dimming wires. Disconnect power before servicing.
- Pairing: After replacing, you’d need to pair the remote with the new module (press PAIR/TEST on module for 3 seconds, then ON/OFF on remote for 3 seconds).
- This is not necessarily the easiest path — a new remote (WP4013-K) is much cheaper and simpler if the module itself isn’t broken.
